Find your footing in Canfield Solitaire

Try Canfield Solitaire at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Complete four suited foundations beginning at the dealt base rank and wrapping king to ace. Use the example below to understand a decision. Compare the starting position with the example in the Guide. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Thirteen reserve cards, four columns, draw-three recyclable stock. Free solo play, no wagering.

Build familiarity through play

Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round. Make the next step deliberately.

Your goal

Complete four suited foundations beginning at the dealt base rank and wrapping king to ace. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Keep the controls in easy reach.

Follow these playing steps

  1. Build tableau runs down in alternating colours, wrapping ace to king. Reserve cards refill empty columns automatically.
  2. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
  3. Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Making selections and moves

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. Contact us with the game and device if a control does not respond.

See the idea in action

With base rank 5, a foundation runs 5 through king, then ace through 4. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Keep the game’s format in mind.

Notice this detail

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round.
